What Claude + MCP actually does
MCP is an open protocol that lets AI assistants connect to external tools. Adobe launched an official Marketo MCP server with over 100 operations - forms, programs, smart campaigns, leads, emails, lists, folders. HubSpot has a native connector in Claude's directory. Once connected, Claude can pull live data from your MAP and CRM, answer questions about your instance, create and update records, and execute API operations - all through natural language.
For a MOPs practitioner who knows exactly what they need, this is useful. You can ask Claude to find leads matching specific criteria, pull campaign performance data, or create records without switching between platforms. It's a faster way to interact with your existing APIs.

There's a difference between talking to your platform and working inside it.
